1) Learn to recognize the signs of hunger: do you feel it in your body or in your head? Is it real hunger, stomach aching, head buzzing, eyes blurry? Or is it more like if I don’t eat this chocolate now I will die type of hunger?
2)Eating is a habit. Sometimes we eat even if we’re not hungry, just because it’s lunchtime, or dinnertime. Distinguish between what is habit and what is true hunger.
3)Thinking about hunger and really focusing on what it feels like makes you realize it’s just a feeling. Ignore it and it will go away.
4)Bulk up on protein and soup. They keep you fuller for longer.
5)Take it one day at a time. It does get easier as your habits change. The mind can get used to anything!
